Dog Training FAQs
How long does it take to train a puppy?
The amount of time it takes for your new puppy to become housebroken depends on how consistent you are with your training and the breed of your puppy. Smaller breeds, such as Yorkshire Terriers, Pomeranians and Bichon Frises tend to require a bit more time and persistence in their training.
We tailor our training program around each puppy’s personality and behavior so that we can train them in a way that will best get through to them the most effectively and the soonest.
Why is puppy obedience training important?
Obedience training your dog is important because you want your puppy to learn from a young age that you are the one in charge. Training your puppy to be obedient to basic commands (sit, stay, come, leave it and down) will set expectations for your puppy on how they should behave and listen from the beginning.
When is the best time to start training your puppy?
When it comes to training a new puppy, the earlier you start, the better. You can begin training classes for your new puppy as soon as you bring him/her home. Training early on helps prevent behavioral issues in puppies before they have a chance to develop them.
